  • 150 US dollars
  • Laramie County Shooting Sports Complex

Service Description

A no ego zone. Only positive vibes and great learning! A class designed to provide education and comfort to handle a variety of handguns and operate them safely. We will be covering the basic safety rules of handling firearms, the different types and their operation. As a class we will discuss proper marksmanship techniques, how to safely load, unload and make safe a variety of handguns. In the afternoon portion, you will have an opportunity to fire a handgun under direct supervision. You will be coached throughout in a calm, friendly way. There will be ample breaks between topics. Speaking of the classroom. THERE IS ZERO LIVE AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. This is to ensure our learning environment is safe for everyone. I will make several amnesty requests at various times to keep this from becoming an issue. The best place to keep your firearm and ammunition is in your vehicle. There is a very safe, well-lit parking area with cameras. I know of zero issues of vehicles being tampered with. You will find that the Laramie County Shooting Sports Complex is very well maintained, to include the classrooms, the ranges and the restrooms. There is a breakroom where items can be heated and a sink. Items to bring: A positive attitude, ready to have fun and learn. Plenty of water, small snacks, or small bills for the vending machine. A notepad, a writing utensil, a handgun secured in a case or bag, 50 rounds of range ammunition in the proper caliber for your handgun. Note: If you are not bringing your own handgun, please don't worry, we have plenty to share. All we ask is that you furnish 50 rounds of ammunition, preferably in 9mm if you can. The range usually has some for sale. If you own your own safety glasses, and hearing protection, you are encouraged to bring it. Otherwise, hearing and eye protection is available to you as part of your class fee. Attire: Long pants, closed toed shoes. A top that covers the neckline (expended brass likes low cut shirts) You are free to wear your prescription glasses as the primary eye protection, however it isn't a bad idea to wear a pair of goggles over to protect them. In 23 years of instruction, I have never had a student become injured (other than minor scrapes/cuts) and I won't let anything bad happen to you! Payment: You may pay for the course online, or I accept cash or check at the beginning of class. If you have any questions at all, you can call/text me at 307-287-9495 or use the website chat.
